The work between the work
Most small business owners are very good at what they do. The roofer knows roofs, the mechanic knows engines, the groomer knows dogs. What costs them customers usually isn't the work itself. It's everything in between: the call that goes to voicemail while they're on a job, the Google listing that still shows last year's hours, the review that sits unanswered for a month, the marketing bill that shows up whether anything happened or not.
None of that is a skills problem. It's a follow-through problem, and there's only so much one owner can follow through on in a day.
Customers decide fast now
Someone with a leaking water heater searches on their phone, reads a few reviews, maybe asks an AI assistant who's good in town, and then calls whoever looks trustworthy and answers first. That whole decision can take ten minutes.

AskHercules builds a small family of services, each one handling a different part of how customers find and choose a local business, without adding another login or another hire. Plowhorse gets you found and chosen on Google: your Business Profile, your reviews, your photos and posts, how AI assistants describe you and, on the Leads plan, turning paid leads into booked jobs. Texthand gives you a business text line that answers right away. Good Mail Co gets your name to the right doors by mail. Toil takes repetitive office work like follow-ups, confirmations and invoice chasing off your plate.
Each one stands on its own, and you can use one without the others. Over time we want them to work together, so what one learns about your customers helps the rest. We're building toward that, and we'll always tell you straight where it stands.
Where we are
We're new, and we'd rather earn testimonials than make them up. That means our first clients get a lot of attention from the people who built the tools. Why the name
A plow horse is the steady worker that breaks the ground so the farm grows. We do the steady, unglamorous work that gets a business found, week after week, while you do the work only you can do.
How we work
Software does the routine work, and a person checks anything sensitive: a reply to an unhappy customer, a change to your name or phone number, or anything that spends your money. Every week you get a short summary of what we did.
